Nisemonogatari x Pangya

What makes Pangya Japan unique compared to other Pangya servers is their multiple collaboration events. On Christmas Day, their 2nd Pangya Christmas Party event was held at Bellesalle Akihabara where the Club Tournament Grand Prix tournament was also played there. During the party event, they revealed several collaboration events for their players to look forward to in the near future.

First up on the list is the introduction of their new With-Kitty collaboration event that started today. Hana will be first to play the role of ABC Cat Village by dressing up like her. However, the outfit set can only be obtained through their Web Gacha system. Judging from five empty slots on their page, it looks like there will be more to come.

If you are unfamiliar with ABC Cat Village, think of it as combining Hello Kitty and Vocaloid together. Her personal name is Nekomura Iroha.

Next up is the Livly Island COR collab where comet balls will be gifted in your mailbox when you log-in per day. This will start on January, so maybe it'll be on next week's update.

And finally, a collaboration event with Nisio Isin’s light novel "Nisemonogatari" will be scheduled to release sometime late February on Pangya Japan.

The TV anime will premiere on January 7th, 2012. I would have overlooked this show if it wasn't for the collaboration event. So my curiosity of watching the first episode is to be expected.

My first impression after watching the trailer has left me little to describe how wild it looks. For those that are familiar with the series may find interest to see which roles will fit any available Pangya characters.

I figure Kooh would have to be Mayoi Hachikuji.

Not sure how many of the other characters from the original show are there in the new one, so hard to say beyond her.

There are so many -monogatari series that I don't know if I'll be at a loss or have less appreciation towards previous characters when I check out Nisemonogatari or not.

Is this the list in order?

Bakemonogatari --> Kizumonogatari --> Nisemonogatari

Super excited to hear more about ABC Village!

Kizumonogatari > Bakemonogatari > Nisemonogatari

Kizumonogatari is being released sometime later this year as a movie I believe. Bakemonogatari aired previously as an anime and the start included a bit about Kizu, but you don't need to know Kizu to understand it. Nisemonogatari is a direct sequel to the Bakemonogatari anime. While you could probably understand it fine without seeing Bakemonogatari first you might not understand the premise of some characters roles and relationships depending on how it's explained in the start.

(It also was quite a good show if you can get past or enjoy SHAFT's "unique" animation style. There's definetly a LOT of wordyness that can be quite confusing. Much to the point where many didn't expect it to be possible to animate.)

Katanagatari > same light novel author, different animation studio and not related character wise

There's also Nekomonogatari wich is another prequel to Bakemonogatari, I read in an article was about how Hanekawa got her curse. There are quite a few novels and it can become confusing so I'll just post this bit from the wikipedia article here for anyone who is interested.

The series was first created by Nisio Isin as a series of short stories for Mephisto magazine. While his previous Zaregoto series featured large casts of characters, each Bakemonogatari story tends to introduce only one new character. The previously published stories, and some new ones, were eventually collected in two volumes as part of the Kodansha Box launch titles on November 1, 2006,[2] and December 1, 2006, respectively.[3] The first volume contains three stories titled Hitagi Crab (ひたぎクラブ?), Mayoi Snail (まよいマイマイ?) and Suruga Monkey (するがモンキー?);[4] the second volume comes with two newly written stories titled Nadeko Snake (なでこスネイク?) and Tsubasa Cat (つばさキャット?).[4]

A prequel to the series, titled Koyomi Vamp (こよみヴァンプ?) was published in the first issue of Pandora magazine, it was later released as a separate volume on May 7, 2008 as Kizumonogatari (傷物語?, "Scar Story").[5] The first volume of Nisemonogatari (偽物語?, "Impostory"), a sequel to the series, was released on September 2, 2008,[6] and contains Karen Bee (かれんビー?). The second volume, containing Tsukihi Phoenix (つきひフェニックス?) was released on June 10, 2009.[7] The first volume of Nekomonogatari (猫物語?, "Cat Story"), another prequel to the series was released on July 29, 2010, and contains Tsubasa Family (つばさファミリー?). The second volume of Nekomonogatari which contains Tsubasa Tiger (つばさタイガー?) was released on October 29, 2010. Kabukimonogatari containing Mayoi Jiang Shi (まよいキョンシー?) was released on December 24, 2010. Hanamonogatari containing Suruga Devil (するがデビル?) was released on March 31, 2011. Otorimonogatari containing Nadeko Medusa (なでこメドゥーサ?) was released on June 30, 2011. Onimonogatari containing Shinobu Time (しのぶタイム?) was released on September 28, 2011. Koimonogatari containing Hitagi End (ひたぎエンド?) was released on December 22, 2011.

Appreciate the detailed responses.

I did watch the first episode of Bakemonogatari last night. It had heavy dialogue as you said, and full of quirky animations to try to get my attention. The dialogue reminds me of "To Aru Majutsu no Index" because it had too much uninteresting dialogue where I couldn't continue, and it may be the same case for Bakemonogatari.

It definitely has a creative design behind it, but it's not enough to keep my interest for much longer. I thought it was going to be something that resembles FLCL with its direction, but it doesn't come close of that to me.

I assume Nisemonogatari would follow the same style, so I'll see where my interest goes when I watch the premiere release.

I find it hard to believe anything could resemble the direction of FLCL sadly.

It's hard to put up with the dialogue and definitely not for all people, sad they couldn't manage to make it more viewable for others since the story isn't as complex as the dialogue makes it seem

I actually fail to see the resemblance in dialogue with "To Aru Majutsu no Index". That one did have uninteresting dialogue but honestly I found everything about Bakemonogatari very good. From the 'unique' animation style, as Karma calls it, wich is indeed a break from the styles we're used to, to the dialogue this is a gem of a series.
Maybe it's just not for you, in wich case don't force yourself to watch it. I watched "Katekyo Hitman Reborn" on strong recommendations from a friend and I ended up skipping lots of episodes because the show was mostly made up of useless fillers wich we're not even funny enough to be worth watching. The main story though was enjoyable.
