Final Fantasy XIII-2 OST

Both the soundtrack and game were released this week in Japan. The soundtrack involves a mix of orchestral, violins, and even heavy metal that's uncommon to see in a Final Fantasy title. Instead of Nobuo Uematsu composing the songs, there are other composers such as Masashi Hamauzu, Naoshi Mizuta, Mitsuto Suzuki, and Yoshitaka Suzuki. OST comes in 4 CD with a total of 79 tracks.

This music CD comes from Persona 4: The Animation Vol.1 DVD/BD. It'll contain both opening and endings with three variations such as the full version, instrumental, and tv size version. The lyrics made by Lotus Juice, vocals from Shihoko Hirata, and composed by Shoji Meguro.

Zelda Skyward Sword Music

Skyward Swords promises a full orchestral soundtrack for the first time in the Zelda series. This is a huge treat for me since I enjoy orchestrated video game tracks. The soundtrack will be included in both editions of the standalone game or the bundled golden Wii motion plus.

Since this is not the official soundtrack, someone has ripped them straight from the game with an astonishing 255 tracks. There are no names on each of these tracks either.

Skyward Sword will have multiple release dates around the world between November 18th-24th.

Blazblue CS Extend Music

Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend has recently arrived in Japanese arcades. The release on PSVita, Xbox360, and Playstation 3 for Japan is scheduled on December 17th this year. So far, there are three new songs discovered. According to this site, the official soundtrack is planned to be released on December 17th this year. So the songs here are unofficial at the moment, but it should play the same way anyways.

Atelier Totori OST

Seeing how I was impressed with the music score from Atelier Rorona, Totori delivers my expectations with more positive results than the first game. The music director has improved the music image of the fantasy world of Arland. It seems most of the songs are heavily focused on instruments that sounds very passionate along with a grand orchestra playing in the process. Since I'm playing the game now, I was able to appreciate the songs selection a lot more than before. There are some songs from Atelier Rorona heard from the game too, but this will be concentrated on Totori's new track lists.

Guilty Gear x Blazblue Music Live 2011

This live performance was released on both DVD and CD that came out this month. This live event was held at Club Citta on 1/22/2011. There are 2 tracks of someone talking about the songs and 17 music tracks recorded with a mix of Daisuke Ishiwatari's masterpiece of both Guilty Gear and Blazblue. The remixes are decent to me, but it's still worth listening to for any fans of Ishiwatari's hardcore music.

TV Anime Pocket Monster OST Best 1997-2010

The soundtrack is taking the best Pokemon music from the anime series. There are a total of 88 tracks divided into two disc; the first disc plays music from Kanto and Johto season and the second from Hoenn and Sinnoh season. It features remarkable orchestra arrangements by Shinji Miyazaki. I always find Pokemon music very fascinating not for nostalgic purposes, but how the quality is presented is top-notch. I'd say if they use these kind of orchestrated songs for a future Pokemon console game, it would truly make the epic experience.
