Video games in 2012 is holding up strong as I constructed my list of games as I did last year in 2011 on my anticipated titles. Most of them are RPG and fighting games since they are my favorite and I included several titles I'm willing to take a look at.
My main concern on my list is that most of them are released between February and March of this year. I do need to be careful of my health around those times and be sure I manage my time accordingly.
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Release date: January 31, 2012
Excitement level: Average
Likelihood to broadcast: High
Having already played the Japanese version recently, I got a grasp of the paradigm shift again. Despite how the game is made, it still looks beautifully made and it's enough where I like to revisit the cast from XIII again.
Soul Calibur V
Release date: January 31, 2012
Excitement level: Average
Likelihood to broadcast: Low
A tale of souls and swords, eternally retold. I always check out the latest Soul Calibur games they release and this version looks pretty solid. I'm not going to go deep in this game, but it's still fun to play casually. I know I'm going to enjoy their evolved character customization mode.
Rhythm Heaven Fever
Release date: February 13, 2012
Excitement level: Average
Likelihood to broadcast: Average
This is one of those games that everyone should play if they own a Wii console. Having already played the Japanese version, I wouldn't mind replaying this game again. And it does leave me curious to see how the English dubs will play out, especially the wrestler interview part.
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend
Release date: February 14, 2012
Excitement level: Very High
Likelihood to broadcast: High
As a hardcore fan of the series, I've studied most of the new re-balanced characters already to get a good start. I currently main both Hazama and Ragna, and both seems to have new interesting combos that I can't wait to try out. You can expect me to go very deep on this game spending countless hours.
SSX
Release date: February 28, 2012
Excitement level: Average
Likelihood to broadcast: High
It's been a long time since I played any SSX games, but I did play a ton of SSX Tricky on the Playstation 2 before. After watching the gameplay footage, it really looks like something I like to try out.
Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2
Release date: March 2, 2012
Excitement level: High
Likelihood to broadcast: High
I really enjoyed the first Hyperdimension game that made me go far as to getting my first ever platinum trophy. It's pretty laid back combing comedy, ecchi, video game references, and so much more. That's my kind of RPG~
Street Fighter x Tekken
Release date: March 6, 2012
Excitement level: Low
Likelihood to broadcast: Low
I was excited for this game at first, but with so many games coming out and Blazblue Extend coming out before this game, it's going to be tough for me to spend too much time on this game. But still, I'm willing to give this game a shot.
Tales of Graces F
Release date: March 13, 2012
Excitement level: Very High
Likelihood to broadcast: Very High
We have been very patient with this title after so many years of back and forth rumors going on the net. I've been anticipating this game because of the unique battle system that I consider to be the most engaging I've ever seen.
Ninja Gaiden 3
Release date: March 20, 2012
Excitement level: Low
Likelihood to broadcast: Low
I try to get into the series, but I couldn't on the first and second game. So here's hoping the third game will keep me engaged.
Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland
Release date: Q2 2012
Excitement level: Very High
Likelihood to broadcast: Very High
This is likely my most anticipated title of 2012. After playing both Rorona and Totori completing platinum trophies, this title will be no different. I believe this is the last chapter of the Arland world so it'll be like the grand finale. And grown-up Totori is

well crap. I think it's about time I really get a ps3
Wow, A.Meruru looks sick :o
Playing the Atelier series has been on my todo list for so long..I really have to find some time and play them !
It's a whole lot cheaper than what I paid before, *coughsixhundreddollarscough*
Especially the console is about the same cost as gambling on Gacha. <img src="http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee436/peperoguy/emote/lol.gif"
It's a charming RPG that I got into myself last year and I'm glad I tried it out. The alchemy system is so addicting too.
I added that video clip of Sterk because he's just so badass, lol.
Aw, sad to see your excitement level for SCV isnt that high. But on the other hand, hooray for BlazBlue!!
Im also anticipating FF XIII-2, eager to see how the story ends. I only got into the Tales series after playing Vesperia, but I suppose it isnt too late to try the other games in the series =)
You just reminded me that I need to finish Rorona... and FFXIII... and get the plat on the first Neptune. There is way too much coming out this year that I want, I mean I already have Mk2; lol import, but I can't wait to play it in English.
I hadn't seen BlazBlue CS:E's opening yet, so thanks for posting that up. Really hyped me up for it now...
With all these games... and more, my wallet will be screaming this year.
Edit: Odd... it said I never posted this comment, well... better late than never I suppose. Lol
Most games on your list are on mine haha. I just gotta wait a bit to play them...oh well.
Seeing as things have rushed by way too fast and I'm still here without finishing the first Blazblue, story-wise does this new release add anything or is it all character changes or something? (I totally blow at fighting games really really bad)
I do have a post in my draft log about the difference between all these Blazblue releases because when I checked back, it's kind of a mess for someone that wants to dive into the series.
As for anything new on Extend, there will be 4 new stories for those 3 DLC characters plus Relius. I think it'll probably use the current story system, so there's no story continuation until we finally see a new title that doesn't have "Continuum Shift" on the name.
I've checked any pending comments and I don't see anything there. The new OP is definitely an improvement compared to Continuum Shift that's for sure.
Hm, that's odd... I shouldn't be surprised, since that happens to me on other places that use Disqus as well. *shrug*
Agreed! Faylan did a fantastic job, and the animation quality is top notch compared to Continuum Shift's.
So if I haven't bought Continuum Shift it'd be smart/fine to just by this one when it comes out and not have to get the original and this it seems. I kind of hate how companies release a game, then dlc then another version with the dlc and more but at least with this sort of game it makes sense I suppose.
According to the Wiki, it looks like it'll have the first Calamity Trigger storyline revamped so you won't have to go back after all. I wouldn't mind going through the beginning story again since I've kind of forgotten most of the mess already.

The only snowboard games I've ever played are Boarder Zone and Shaun White Snowboarding. I enjoyed them both but seeing SSX makes me think it'll blow these two away. I only hope it comes to pc as well.
I Didnt watched you playing Totori or Neptunia on the English release the voices are in english or japanese(or maybe you can swap ;P)?
Based from memory, both English and Japanese dubs are available for both games.
You didn't watch Totori!? Well, I'll forgive you if you watch Meruru. : D
