The Persona fighting game has been released in Japanese arcades on March 1st. Several matches has already been posted online for us to catch a glimpse of how the actual gameplay will play out. The game is called Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena in Japan, but I believe the America version will simply call it, Persona 4: Arena.
Since the game is developed by the Persona team, they've added plenty of recognizable features from the series such as their signature cut-ins that pops up on the screen. You'll see Rise providing commentary support just like how she does on Persona 4. There's also the skull smoke cloud too and so many other features that you'll be able to distinguish for Persona fans to appreciate.
Mitsuru vs. Naoto
I'm liking how I recognize these Japanese players from Blazblue. Naoto ground shot reminds me of Noel Vermillion. This is the only clip without Japanese commentary if you want to hear just the main game audio.
Naoto vs. Yuu - 0:14
Akihiko vs. Yukiko - 03:45
Chie vs. Kanji - 05:56
Aegis vs. Mitsuru - 08:48
Game audio on left speaker, hyped up commentator on the right. On 1:37, you can see Naoto's finisher. It looks like you must avoid the targets shown on the screen, or else it's game over for them.
If you want to follow more future gameplay footage, you can check out jourdal and pktazn1213.
For those that plays previous Arc System Works fighting games like Blazblue will be familiarize with the control schemes. A console release for Xbox 360 and PS3 has been stated for a summer release this year for both Japan and North America.
Because Persona seems to be accepted by western audience, it might become a huge hit here compared to Blazblue. Well if you can't beat em, join em.

Seems interesting, although I'm not sure if I personally will get into this or not.
