Wiz City Sneakpeek & Future Contents

The Pangya Party held at Bellesalle Akihabara, Japan broadcasted their live performance on Nicovideo and Ustream around the afternoon on October 22nd. The event contained many different segments including 5 vs. 5 tournament, interviews, talk of future contents, Wiz City, and two new trailers.


I do have live footage recorded from their low-quality Ustream channel. Rather than showing a full 4-5 hour clip, I'm breaking it down to show only the best parts that matters to us, the new trailers and Wiz City in action.

There's was an offline tournament during the event where 10 players were handpicked by random drawings to represent their selected Pangya character to play. They are to play 9-holes/shuffle starting with Blue Lagoon, Sepia Wind, and Wiz City.

Afterwards, there was an interview from Ntreev Korea, then they further talked about future contents on their slideshow that revealed lots of interesting information that let us know this game hasn't died just yet.


Wiz City is a course unlike we have ever seen. For this new course,instead of depending on overdrive bonuses, the main focus is to collect lots of pangs scattered around the course. Your comet ball is like a magnet that sucks up nearby pangs that surrounds the green. You will notice that those pangs also surround the green too. There should be a separate tab below your pang amount to see how many pangs and random boxes you have collected.


This reminds me of a pinball machine. You can see the theme on Wiz City is like "gambling". You will see card suit symbols and dices located near the tee. Not only will you be collecting pangs but also random boxes with a key item inside, and the purple magic carpets down the path will allow your ball to keep bouncing further.


Other mentionable features on Wiz City are booster gates that is similar to Shining Sand and Lost Seaway. It's almost like you won't need to make chip-ins to become acquainted with this new course.


Imagine having interchangeable hairstyles on different characters. A great example of this is on the Wiz City trailer, you can clearly see that Nell is using Kooh's default hairstyle.


Example of 3D courses. As you can see, it looks like a sphere world.


How would you like to see Kooh's skull maiden dress on Lucia. Or how about Project G outfit on Azer... This will certainly add lots of replay value just for cross dressing.


We've seen how Wiz City has a unique setup unlike any previous course we've seen so far. I get the feeling Demon's Land will incorporate a new feature into this course with something related to boss mode. Also, I want them to break the boundaries and make this a six star course just for fun.

Here are some more information about what to expect from Pangya in the future:

● Pangya World Championship 2012 will be held at Thailand on January next year.
● New graphics upgrade is not fully completed and will be continued for more improvements and stability.
● New modes like Pangya League, Team Speed Race, and Story Mode has been planned.
● A new character will be developed and release around next year.
● A new course to be released hoping before Spring 2012.
● Demon's Land is confirmed to be a released course.
● Japan's 7th anniversary begins on November 11th.

It still looks like Pangya has more life than I expected. Wiz City will be released on Korea server on 10/25/11, Thailand server on 10/26/11, Japan server 10/27/11, and Global server 11/9/11. (EDIT: Official release date has been announced)
