Atelier Totori Review

Once I got my hands on Atelier Totori, my social life was pretty much bleak at this point. Everything that I wanted from a JRPG was in my possession that I devoted most of my time on the game. My first Atelier game was the first one that was released for the Playstation 2, so I was still fairly new to the series.

Actually, it was thanks to Totori that got me into their Playstation 3 lineup when it was released last year for the Japanese version. After giving Atelier Rorona a try this year, I was instantly hooked. So I was highly looking forward to Totori's release date with much anticipation, and the next sequel delivered it a whole lot better than the first game with so many vast improvements.

People say it's a low budget title, but I honestly don't see anything low about it. They probably haven't played it on 1080p to see how crisp the visuals are or they just have a miserable life to spread the negativity to others. So don't let the low budget title mislead you, it still performs as a very well made JRPG. It's a game that doesn't try too hard, but delivers the right balance on what RPG fans really wants. You can say it's a silly game, but it's the kind of silliness that brings so much charm into the Atelier series. It's a game where I can relax and enjoy playing, while it contains optional challenges for the hardcore fans too.

Compared to other RPG titles like Hyperdimension Neptunia and Ar Tonelico 3 that I've played this year, this game is no different when it comes down to popularity. Besides that point, as long as I'm enjoying and provide some support towards the series, that's all that matters to me. Even if a few people have watched me play Totori that didn't care for it, and this review will obviously be ignored to most of you, I still feel great for playing the game for my own self satisfaction alone.

And before people say the English voices are horrible, the voices are just fine... Peter is an exception to this because his screechy voice is done on purpose to fit with the character. There's an option to change to Japanese voices for those who can't take it for whatever reasons.

Cory yells at her, and Filly just can't take it anymore. She's so scared.

Fanservice~ Totori's lewd pose.

56 hours 14 minutes 23 seconds. Plus a couple of hours playing it outside of my broadcasting schedule, that nets to about 60 gameplay hours.

This is also the estimated time that took me to achieve 100% completion for a Platinum Trophy on October 9th 10:00 PM. Now I can claim my life back once again, for now.

I'm quite certain that I wasn't the only one who enjoyed seeing you playing this game. I can't say it was the best game, but It has that fun vibe that make you hooked to it. Keep Broadcasting games like these, they're awesome! :3
