Weekly Pangya Update #41

No server maintenance this week, but they can sneak in Halloween outfits in the shop again. Do note that the Bewitching outfits is an old Gacha rare that was first introduced on other servers in the year 2008. Just like before, the shop will only carry the purple color version since the other color option could be changed to orange on Cadie's cauldron. Global server be excluded from this feature because it isn't Gacha. That's their rule. I wasn't expecting another revisited Halloween event again anyways.

Play up to 50 holes to get x50 chestnuts that gives x2 exp. Play up to 100 holes and you'll also get x50 Montblanc that gives x2 pangs. Event last for one week. Nom on that chestnut Hana.

Cadie's achievement test will check to see how much you know about Pangya. There will be a variety of test to take.

The prize for getting all the answers correctly will receive a new hat. Available for all characters too.

Here's an update on what the Japanese players thought about the meteor shower event.
How did you like the Meteor Shower event?
Great: 40.7%
Bad: 59.3%
That's pretty upsetting to see considering a new course is on the way, and the build-up tension isn't as high as what the game used to be. I completely skipped this event too.

Other Notices

Both Pangya Japan and Korea have updated their system specification to upgrade their old engine performance.

What you can expect from the new upgrades are sharper textures, improved water effects, screen fade transition, corrected/improved visuals, and much more. I'm wondering if this has anything related to Wiz City, since it'll probably have so many vibrant visuals that needs an extra boost from the game's old engine to look stunning.

Here are a few screenshots using resolutions of 1920 x 1080 to see how it looks.

Specification requirements has changed on their website.

Before
CPU: Pentium III 800Mhz or higher
Memory: 256 MB or higher
Video Card: GeForce 2 MX or higher
Operating Systems: Windows 98 / 98SE / ME / 2000 / XP
Direct X Version: Direct X 8.1 or higher

After
CPU: Pentium IV or higher
Memory: 512 MB or higher
Video Card: GeForce FX or higher
Operating Systems: Windows XP / Vista / 7
Direct X Version: Direct X 9.0C or higher

The most noticeable graphic improvements is the improved Water Effects. It was horrible for the current engine (and in some cases: wrong reflections... lol).

As for the system requirements, it should have been changed since Season 4, as I noticed a performance degradation on some course effects (and eventually Lucia alone back then (and now Nell too), since I got FPS drops while having Lucia and Nell characters selected and went to My Room. Other characters have no issues). I was using the old Celeron D processor before, but now I upgraded to Pentium 4 processor recently.

Yes!!! They added windows 7!!! Thats awesome news!

Indeed, i only see a difference with water effects..

Rich, can you add a link to the Meteor shower event, i just can't find it on your website.. i wanted to remember this event.
Ty,

yeah.. i looked at the water and... was like... WOW!!! i didn't expect that much change O_O (is this why some of my friends like to say "it's not season 5 until wiz city arrives"?? lol xD)

anyway since it's only jp/kr.... i guess this kinda highly suggest that we won't be getting wiz city the same time they do...oh well....

but.. hmm... I better record my replays soon!!! at least... do so before these pre-wizcity updates are added to our server xD

lol

Finally, graphic improvements !
I guess we'll never get a full graphic overhaul, but that's a start.

I agree an improvement was long overdue, especially the Windows Vista / 7 compatibility. But I like the graphic the way it is to be honest, I mean the style. I'm not too crazy about the style they used in the Wii version of the game, and I don't think they'd go for a thing like pfffttt wild idea here..... using the Unreal graphics engine let's say. This is what a casual game should look like, cartoony. :-)
Though I would like to see an option of resizing the powerbar so we can play in higher resolutions. This is the only reason I'm playing in 800x600.

What is the name of this set?

Never seen those 0-o i wonder what those hairs look like from the back they look really nice in front but that outfit is UGLY
